Bible Matters 428: Signs and Wonders

God knows your heart. 

1 Samuel 16:7 – But the Lord said unto Samuel, Look not on his countenance, or on the height of his stature; because I have refused him: for the Lord seeth not as man seeth; for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the Lord looketh on the heart.

When it comes to believing and walking with the Lord thy God, you must have faith.  Faith in the almighty, the creator of heaven and earth.  When one is brought up in the church, walking to the beat of the church has replaced the true walk with the Lord thy God.  Faith has been replaced by the beat of the church.  You say you believe in God, because you associate with those that say they believe and do the things of the church.  The question is do you believe in God and are you doing the will of God.  The disciples walked with Jesus and they too had trouble believing. 

John 4:48 – Then said Jesus unto him, Except ye see signs and wonders, ye will not believe.

Following the resurrection of Jesus Christ, he had witnessed to the women that believed in him and they remembered his words.  The disciples and others did not believe the women, when they reported that Jesus had risen from the dead.  Those non-believers were but fools.

Luke 24:8-11,24-26 – And they remembered his words, And returned from the sepulchre, and told all these things unto the eleven, and to all the rest.  It was Mary Magdalene, and Joanna, and Mary the mother of James, and other women that were with them, which told these things unto the apostles.  And their words seemed to them as idle tales, and they believed them not.  And certain of them which were with us went to the sepulchre, and found it even so as the women had said: but him they saw not. Then he said unto them, O fools, and slow of heart to believe all that the prophets have spoken: [26] Ought not Christ to have suffered these things, and to enter into his glory?

At the first meeting of the resurrected Jesus with his believers, Thomas was not present.  Despite all the miracles that Jesus performed, Thomas did not believe that Jesus rose from the dead.  In the second meeting, Thomas was present. 

John 20:26-31 – And after eight days again his disciples were within, and Thomas with them: then came Jesus, the doors being shut, and stood in the midst, and said, Peace be unto you.  Then saith he to Thomas, Reach hither thy finger, and behold my hands; and reach hither thy hand, and thrust it into my side: and be not faithless, but believing.  And Thomas answered and said unto him, My Lord and my God.  Jesus saith unto him, Thomas, because thou hast seen me, thou hast believed: blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed.  And many other signs truly did Jesus in the presence of his disciples, which are not written in this book:  But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through his name.

When you walk with God, he will use you to promote and do the will of God.  Many that say they believe, will not believe that God can still communicate with his followers on earth.  When you seek the truth, God will prevail. 

When I witnessed to a pastor that God had texted me. “Ecclesiastes”, and later, in a time of distress against preaching false doctrine, God had texted me, “Romans 8:28”, the pastor said that God doesn’t reach people like that.  God created heaven and earth.  God can text!  To be used of God, is all that God is looking for. 

Romans 8:28 – And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.

God texted me Romans 8:28 on 9/6/21.  At the time I did not realize it, but in bible numbers. 9/6/21 translates into “a message from God to a man in distress.”  I was distressed, because a church of man, cannot save anyone from death and life everlasting, especially a man lost in self-love and addiction.  You must believe and accept a future with God, by your own free-will by believing in God and his gospel.  You must believe that God sent Jesus to present his gospel of love.  To believe that you are to repent of your sins and turn your life over from self-love to loving God and loving your neighbor.  God never said to fall in love with yourself.  Addiction and sin are all about self-love.  Man’s church, in love with filthy lucre, wants you to believe that you are saved from death by telling yourself that you believe in Jesus and you are saved.  Saved from what, I do not know.  I am here to tell you that God wants your heart.  Until you give God your heart, only then will your life change.  If you are addicted to drugs and alcohol, then the addiction to the things of the devil will keep you from enjoying life, living to the glory of God, that he has designed for you. 

Never doubt the power of God.  Do not doubt that God has a plan for you.  Think back on those times when God has saved you from destruction ……     If there is one instance in your memory where God has sparred you from destruction, then that is a sign, that God has been waiting for you. 

God is not looking for bible scholars.  God picked twelve disciples to spread his word with Jesus, that were far from bible scholars.  They were everyday blue-collar workers, fishermen, tax collector and a zealot that hated Roman rule.  Not scholarly by any means.  I was trained in living a life for God, but was not fluent in bible knowledge.  At 59 years old, God told me that I needed to understand his words in the bible. His training in the dealings in my life and his words that you shall know the truth out of the mouth of two or three witnesses, is a game changer.  Ten gospel books later, God prevails.  If you let God use you, then he will. Do not get confused by comparing your life against others.  Decide today to live your life for the glory of God.  Compare your life to no one.  Compare your life against the life that God has waiting for you to live.  To spread his word of love and to be used of God.    Today, tell others of this ministry.  Do not be ashamed of God’s word. 

The question is, are you walking with God today?  Are you open to the truth in God’s word, that out of the mouth of two or three witnesses you shall know the truth.   Never doubt the power of God and what he can do in your life.  Starting today, give God a chance and your life will change!
