Arrogance

Bible Matters 537: Arrogance

Arrogance is deadly.  God offers everlasting life to those that believe and live his gospel.  Time and time again, the arrogant non-believer will not be interested in understanding God’s word.  One of the worst non-believers are the Jesus worshippers that have been deceived by bible doctrine created by the devil.  These modern Jesus worshippers will hoop and holler about Jesus being God, they are saved by grace and have everlasting life without works.    Hoorah for me and the hell with you!

They have not learned anything from the rich man parable. That rich man failed to recognize the poor man, Lazarus.  Both passed from this earth.  Lazarus went to heaven (Abraham’s bosom).  The rich man went to hell.  The rich man offered no works of charity or gifts of compassion to Lazarus.

Luke 16:22-23 – And it came to pass, that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels into Abraham’s bosom: the rich man also died, and was buried; And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom.

The priest and Levite thought that they had heaven in their hip pocket, or so they thought.  They had no time to offer works of compassion to care for the unfortunate man that was beaten and left to die.   A Samaritan came along and cared for the less fortunate.  His works reinforced his belief in living a life unto righteousness, loving his neighbor and serving the things of God.  Loving your neighbor is work.

Luke 10:30-36 – And Jesus answering said, A certain man went down from Jerusalem to Jericho, and fell among thieves, which stripped him of his raiment, and wounded him, and departed, leaving him half dead. And by chance there came down a certain priest that way: and when he saw him, he passed by on the other side.  And likewise a Levite, when he was at the place, came and looked on him, and passed by on the other side.  But a certain Samaritan, as he journeyed, came where he was: and when he saw him, he had compassion on him,  And went to him, and bound up his wounds, pouring in oil and wine, and set him on his own beast, and brought him to an inn, and took care of him.  And on the morrow when he departed, he took out two pence, and gave them to the host, and said unto him, Take care of him; and whatsoever thou spends more, when I come again, I will repay thee.  Which now of these three, thinks thou, was neighbor unto him that fell among the thieves?

Regardless as to the preponderance of evidence of the eight New Testament witnesses, the arrogant man will snicker and say that they are saved by grace and not works…

Acts 15:11 – But we believe that through the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ we shall be saved, even as they.

Ephesians 2:8-9 – For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: [9] Not of works, lest any man should boast.

You are created by the doctrine that Jesus preached in his walk on this earth.  Read to whole bible.  Don’t get deceived by the devil and read the next verse!  When you believe, then God’s doctrine in his Gospel of Love, has created a man of good works.  Yes, God is looking for your good works.

Ephesians 2:10 – For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.

Howard Pittman believed he was a saved by grace without works preacher and he died and went to hell!

Remember, God will judge your good works.

Ecclesiastes 12:1,13-14 – Remember now thy Creator in the days of thy youth, while the evil days come not, nor the years draw nigh, when thou shalt say, I have no pleasure in them; Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man. For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.

The only thing standing between you and heaven is you!   Take a look in the mirror.  Do you see a sinner or a man following the teaching of the prophets?  Your good works will transition you from a lover of self, to a lover of others.  Your good works will transition you to a righteous believer, living God’s Gospel of Love.

Arrogance and pride will be a thing of the past.  The Lord knows the desires of the humble.

Psalm 10:1,3-5,15-18 – Why standest thou afar off, O LORD? why hidest thou thyself in times of trouble? [3] For the wicked boasteth of his heart’s desire, and blesseth the covetous, whom the LORD abhorreth.  The wicked, through the pride of his countenance, will not seek after God: God is not in all his thoughts.  His ways are always grievous; thy judgments are far above out of his sight: as for all his enemies, he puffeth at them.  Break thou the arm of the wicked and the evil man: seek out his wickedness till thou find none.  The LORD is King for ever and ever: the heathen are perished out of his land.  LORD, thou hast heard the desire of the humble: thou wilt prepare their heart, thou wilt cause thine ear to hear:  To judge the fatherless and the oppressed, that the man of the earth may no more oppress.

God is looking for you to do the will of God.

1 John 2:15-17 – Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.  For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.  And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.

Do not be deceived.  God is looking for your do.  He is looking for your good works.

James 1:22-24 – But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.  For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass:  For he beholdeth himself, and goeth his way, and straightway forgetteth what manner of man he was.

When you recognize that in your arrogance, that you are on your way to hell, you will seek God.

Proverbs 8:11,13,17 – For wisdom is better than rubies; and all the things that may be desired are not to be compared to it.  The fear of the LORD is to hate evil: pride, and arrogancy, and the evil way, and the froward mouth, do I hate.  I love them that love me; and those that seek me early shall find me.

Jeremiah 48:28-29,38 – O ye that dwell in Moab, leave the cities, and dwell in the rock, and be like the dove that maketh her nest in the sides of the hole’s mouth.  We have heard the pride of Moab, (he is exceeding proud) his loftiness, and his arrogancy, and his pride, and the haughtiness of his heart.  There shall be lamentation generally upon all the housetops of Moab, and in the streets thereof: for I have broken Moab like a vessel wherein is no pleasure, saith the LORD.

With your heart right with God, your being will rejoice in the Lord.  You are happy being alive, serving others.  Your actions and good works are being weighed by the Lord.

1 Samuel 2:1-3 – And Hannah prayed, and said, My heart rejoiceth in the LORD, mine horn is exalted in the LORD: my mouth is enlarged over mine enemies; because I rejoice in thy salvation.  There is none holy as the LORD: for there is none beside thee: neither is there any rock like our God.  Talk no more so exceeding proudly; let not arrogancy come out of your mouth: for the LORD is a God of knowledge, and by him actions are weighed.

God will punish the ungodly.  The wicked for their evil works, sin.

Isaiah 13:11 – And I will punish the world for their evil, and the wicked for their iniquity; and I will cause the arrogancy of the proud to cease, and will lay low the haughtiness of the terrible.

Being born again, you turn up your end game to serving the things of God.  Your righteousness brings life.

1 Peter 4:8-10 – And above all things have fervent charity among yourselves: for charity shall cover the multitude of sins.  Use hospitality one to another without grudging.  As every man hath received the gift, even so minister the same one to another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God.

Proverbs 11:1-2,4 – A false balance is abomination to the LORD: but a just weight is his delight.  When pride cometh, then cometh shame: but with the lowly is wisdom.  Riches profit not in the day of wrath: but righteousness delivers you from death.

Still don’t believe me?  Study the Epistle of James.

To God be the glory in all you do, Amen.
