Bible Matters 499: Luke Gospel of Love
Mark and Luke were disciples that
walked with Jesus on this earth. They
weren’t chosen by Jesus as Apostles, but they chose God. There is no doubt that they understood the
gospel of Love that Jesus brought to this earth. Luke was a physician that delivered God’s
gospel of Love during his walk with Paul.
Luke preached the truth in God’s word out of the mouth of two or three
witnesses. Luke knew the truth!
Colossians 4:14 – Luke, the beloved
physician, and Demas, greet you.
2 Timothy 4:11 – Only Luke is with me.
Take Mark, and bring him with thee: for he is profitable to me for the
ministry.
When Jesus spoke on repentance, Luke
understood perfectly!
Luke 5:31-32 – And Jesus answering
said unto them, They that are whole need not a physician; but they that are
sick. I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.
When you follow Jesus, you take up
your cross and do God’s will.
Luke 9:23 – And he said to them all,
If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross
daily, and follow me.
Let’s
review Luke’s testimony on God’s gospel of Love.
• Believe in one God – When
you believe in God, you believe in the scriptures.
Luke 18:19 – And Jesus said unto
him, Why callest thou me good? none is good, save one, that is, God.
Luke 4:8 – And Jesus answered and said
unto him, Get thee behind me, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the
Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.
Luke 4:33-34 – And in the synagogue
there was a man, which had a spirit of an unclean devil, and cried out with a
loud voice, Saying, Let us alone; what
have we to do with thee, thou Jesus of Nazareth? art thou come to destroy us? I
know thee who thou art; the Holy One of God.
• Repent of your sins and surrender to
God – Your walk with God begins when you turn from your sinful past and receive
God’s word as a little child.
Luke 5:32 – I came not to call the
righteous, but sinners to repentance.
Luke 6:45 – A good man out of the good
treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is good; and an evil man out of
the evil treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is evil: for of the
abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh.
Luke 18:17 – Verily I say unto you, Whosoever shall not
receive the kingdom of God as a little child shall in no wise enter therein.
Luke 18:19-20 – And Jesus said unto
him, Why callest thou me good? none is good, save one, that is, God. Thou knowest the commandments, Do not commit
adultery, Do not kill, Do not steal, Do not bear false witness, Honour thy
father and thy mother.
Luke 15:24,31-32 – For this my son was
dead, and is alive again; he was lost, and is found. And they began to be
merry. And he said unto him, Son, thou art ever with me, and all that I have is
thine. It was meet that we should make
merry, and be glad: for this thy brother was dead, and is alive again; and was
lost, and is found.
Luke 20:38 – For he is not a God of
the dead, but of the living: for all live unto him.
Luke 22:18 – For I say unto you, I
will not drink of the fruit of the vine, until the kingdom of God shall come.
Luke 18:22 – Now when Jesus heard
these things, he said unto him, Yet lackest thou one thing: sell all that thou
hast, and distribute unto the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and
come, follow me.
• Judge no one – Judge your pure walk
against God’s word. Do not assume
righteousness by comparing your walk against another. Man judges in the flesh. God judges in the spirit.
Luke 6:37 – Judge not, and ye shall
not be judged: condemn not, and ye shall not be condemned: forgive, and ye
shall be forgiven:
Luke 12:57 – Yea, and why even of
yourselves judge ye not what is right?
• Love God – Pray, do good and turn
from sin. Your walk will be your
testimony. Do not blaspheme the Holy
Ghost.
Luke 10:27-28 – And he answering said,
Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and
with all thy strength, and with all thy mind; and thy neighbour as thyself. And
he said unto him, Thou hast answered right: this do, and thou shalt live.
Luke 12:10 – And whosoever shall speak
a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but unto him that
blasphemeth against the Holy Ghost it shall not be forgiven.
• Love your Neighbor – The Samaritan
loved from the heart. Not for the
promise of everlasting life, but because he loved the things of God from the
heart.
Luke 10:27 – And he answering said,
Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and
with all thy strength, and with all thy mind; and thy neighbour as thyself.
Luke 10:31,33,35-36 – And by chance
there came down a certain priest that way: and when he saw him, he passed by on
the other side. But a certain Samaritan,
as he journeyed, came where he was: and when he saw him, he had compassion on
him, And on the morrow when he departed,
he took out two pence, and gave them to the host, and said unto him, Take care
of him; and whatsoever thou spendest more, when I come again, I will repay thee. Which now of these three, thinkest thou, was
neighbour unto him that fell among the thieves?
• Doeth the will of God unto eternal
life. Heaven is real, so make sure you
prepare for it with a walk serving God and neighbor. When you love God, you are his witness, unto
eternal life. You witness and love and
refrain from judgement. You turn in
peace from whoever does not receive you.
God will exalt you in due time.
Luke 9:5 – And whosoever will not
receive you, when ye go out of that city, shake off the very dust from your
feet for a testimony against them.
Luke 14:11 – For whosoever exalteth
himself shall be abased; and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted.
Luke 8:15 – But that on the good
ground are they, which in an honest and good heart, having heard the word, keep
it, and bring forth fruit with patience.
Luke 10:25,27 – And, behold, a certain
lawyer stood up, and tempted him, saying, Master, what shall I do to inherit
eternal life? And he answering said, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all
thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy
mind; and thy neighbour as thyself.
Luke 18:18-20,22 – And a certain ruler
asked him, saying, Good Master, what shall I do to inherit eternal life? And Jesus said unto him, Why callest thou me
good? none is good, save one, that is, God.
Thou knowest the commandments, Do not commit adultery, Do not kill, Do
not steal, Do not bear false witness, Honour thy father and thy mother. Now when Jesus heard these things, he said
unto him, Yet lackest thou one thing: sell all that thou hast, and distribute
unto the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come, follow me.
When you love God, you
follow the Gospel that Jesus brought to this earth. Discard your old sinful life and live your
life for the glory of God. Believe that
God has a plan for you. Have faith and worship
only God. Do not let any man, any church
or any church leader, lead you into believing the Jesus did it all and you do
not have to show your faith by doing God’s will. Do not be deceived. God is looking for you to go live God’s
gospel of Love.
To God be the glory in all you do, Amen..
