Bible Matters 464:  144000

You know the bible number 12:  Twelve is the number of government perfection and divine authority.  The Israel nation was composed of the offspring of the twelve sons of Jacob.   Jesus chose twelve apostles as his followers.  The divine authority in the one true God is established twelve times in the bible out of the mouth of two or three witnesses in God’s word.

So, it is no mystery why John witnessed on 144,000 or 12 x 12,000 of the tribes of the children of Israel whose names were written in the book of life and a great multitude that no man could number.   All saying, Amen: Blessing, and glory, and wisdom, and thanksgiving, and honor, and power, and might, be unto our God for ever and ever. Amen  All worshipping the one true God.

Revelation 7:3-4,9-12 – Saying, Hurt not the earth, neither the sea, nor the trees, till we have sealed the servants of our God in their foreheads.  And I heard the number of them which were sealed: and there were sealed an hundred and forty and four thousand of all the tribes of the children of Israel.  After this I beheld, and, lo, a great multitude, which no man could number, of all nations, and kindreds, and people, and tongues, stood before the throne, and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, and palms in their hands;  And cried with a loud voice, saying, Salvation to our God which sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb.  And all the angels stood round about the throne, and about the elders and the four beasts, and fell before the throne on their faces, and worshipped God,  Saying, Amen: Blessing, and glory, and wisdom, and thanksgiving, and honour, and power, and might, be unto our God for ever and ever. Amen.

Again, John gave testimony of the one hundred and forty-four thousand giving glory to God.

Revelation 14:1,7 – And I looked, and, lo, a Lamb stood on the mount Sion, and with him an hundred forty and four thousand, having his Father’s name written in their foreheads.  Saying with a loud voice, Fear God, and give glory to him; for the hour of his judgment is come: and worship him that made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and the fountains of waters.

There are no other witnesses in the bible that gave testimony of these one hundred and forty-four believers giving glory to God.  Only one witness, John, gave testimony in one book of the bible, Revelation.  No other witness gave a similar testimony.

I witnessed to a group of men, witnessing for Jehovah on the bicycle trail in Loveland.  They were witnessing from a doctrine established by pick and choose verses from the bible   They testified that they weren’t going to heaven.  Heaven is for the one hundred and forty-four thousand elect, that get invited to heaven.  Later, looking up their church doctrine, the non-elect look forward to living in paradise, here on this earth.  Where in the bible from the mouth of two or three witnesses, this all comes from, I don’t know!  This makes lving one’s life per God’s gospel of Love, just so simple!

Per the will of God, knowing of this one hundred and forty-four thousand and many more in heaven doesn’t really matter.  What does matter is that you will be giving glory to the one true God, God is King.

God is looking for your love and works from the heart with a pattern of good works.

Titus 1:2,8,15-16 – In hope of eternal life, which God, that cannot lie, promised before the world began;  But a lover of hospitality, a lover of good men, sober, just, holy, temperate;  Unto the pure all things are pure: but unto them that are defiled and unbelieving is nothing pure; but even their mind and conscience is defiled.  They profess that they know God; but in works they deny him, being abominable, and disobedient, and unto every good work reprobate.

Titus 2:4-7 – That they may teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children,  To be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed.  Young men likewise exhort to be sober minded.  In all things shewing thyself a pattern of good works: in doctrine shewing uncorruptness, gravity, sincerity

To God be the glory in all you do, Amen.
